Speaking of the route, the idea would be to use, as a starting point, the parking lot of the Lapedona sports field. Since this is a loop tour, this would allow cars to be conveniently left and then picked up at the end of the tour.<\/p>

We will start immediately facing a descent initially paved that then becomes brecciata with a compact bottom that does not present any technical difficulty in the direction of Fosso San Biagio.Arrived at a crossroads we will turn right to begin the climb towards Altidona, always on a dirt but compact bottom.The climb presents on the left side the hill on which Altidona is located, on the right side instead we will be able to see Lapedona that will be the final stage of the tour.<\/p>

Once you finish the climb you find yourself outside the walls of the village of Altidona and passing through the archway under the bell tower you will find yourself directly in the heart of the village.At this point you can take a short break during which clients can stretch their legs as a result of the climb and in the meantime we could give some historical background on the village that was once a town of furnace workers. Collaboration could also be sought with the municipality, which could perhaps make information boards and also collaboration with a couple of history-loving residents who already on other occasions, have illustrated photos and told anecdotes about Altidona’s past. In the main alley there is a small bar, in front of which you pass before starting to ride through the various alleys of the village from which you can catch beautiful glimpses with the sea in the background.The visit to Altidona ends in the square to the east of the village, and on foot you can climb up to the belvedere.We will leave the village through the Porta dei Leoni and resume cycling toward Moresco.<\/p>

The asphalt immediately gives way to a nice dirt road that passes under thick vegetation and guides us inside a ditch.We are in contrada Saltareccio. Once the descent is over, we begin to climb again on a dirt road for about 3\/400 meters until we cross a secondary asphalt road.At this point, depending on how you are with your schedule, you can decide to pay a quick visit to the Saltareccio convent (a very characteristic place) or to continue the tour in the direction of Moresco. In the second hypothesis, the road becomes a path, again without any technical difficulty.We climb for 200 meters to reach the top of a clearing where we proceed for about a kilometer until we cross the provincial road that we will cross to descend to contrada Castelletta always on dirt road.<\/p>

We proceed on a false plain from which, on our left, looking down we can see Valdaso with all its vineyards and orchards.Looking up instead, on a clear day it will also be possible to see the Gran Sasso, opposite instead Moresco which will be our next destination.<\/p>

Once we have finished Contrada Castelletta, we are forced to drive for a kilometer along a piece of provincial road, however not very busy, this is because the variants that are there present a particularly challenging uphill section that moreover ends with steps.<\/p>

We enter the village in the presence of the beautiful heptagonal tower that dominates the hamlet and makes it recognizable even from a distance.Walking along a characteristic alley, from which there is an excellent view of the valley, we enter the square:on the left is the town hall and all around it a set of wisely restored houses.<\/p>

Leaving the square we can cross the whole village making a loop that will then take us back again under the tower.Seeking the collaboration of the municipality it would be nice to be able to organize, after appropriate communication, a guided tour of the tower, which is truly suggestive and from the height of its 25 meters allows us to observe the landscape at 360\u00b0 from the sea to the Sibillini Mountains.<\/p>

We set off again towards Monterubbiano along a side street that exits onto the area where the traditional festival called Scio’ la Pica takes place.We enter the town through Porta Marina passing in front of the Sforza palace, an ancient noble family settled around 1500. Through an avenue paved with sanpietrini, one arrives in the main square in the presence of the town hall.Again, it would be nice, through the collaboration of the municipality, to be able to carry out a guided tour of the Sforza palace,the cloister of San francesco and perhaps visit the Pagani theater. Passing in front of the Town Hall we will make a stop at the Bike Village La Cava, home of the FCI-affiliated mtb school The Black Sheepmtb, where it will be possible to realize what can arise when the passion for bikes and the desire to teach children how to use them is really strong.We are practically at the turning point, crossing the San Rocco Park, the handlebars of our bikes will point towards the sea to ride the part of the route that will take us back to Lapedona, the starting and finishing point.
From now until the end of the tour on the horizon we will always see the sea.<\/p>

As Monterubbiano is the highest point of the whole hike (463 meters above sea level),we will be able to admire the valleys and hills that separate it from the sea in the background.From this point on,the most enjoyable part of the trail in terms of riding develops. A long descent brecciata in fact,will lead us to the Cammello humps,two very pronounced depressions within the forest on single track really fun,after which will begin a gentle ascent that will lead us to the village of Lapedona from which it will be possible to admire the coast from above. You can also pay a visit to the charming church of San Nicol\u00f2 characterized by a completely painted wooden ceiling.<\/p>

In this village every year, in the month of September, the traditional festival of cooked wine takes place, which always attracts a large number of visitors.At this point, after walking through the village through its picturesque alleys, and why not have a tasty aperitif, you can return to the sports field, the point of arrival of this tour.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
